Leadership Style: Highly disciplined, precise, and realistic ISTJs bring clarity and structure to goals by concentrating on facts and taking nothing for granted. More task than relationship oriented, they rely upon standard operating procedures, maintain the status quo, and acknowledge power and authority that are bestowed through title and tenure. In leadership positions, ISTJs set a standard and expect followers to do their duty and to adhere to that standard.
Conflict Resolution: Logical, reserved, and conscientious, ISTJs respect established rules and regulations that have been put in place to help things run efficiently. They expect those in authority to resolve conflicts and infractions and have little patience for conflict that interferes with their work and their duty.
Communication Style: ISTJs trust and remember information gained from first-hand experience. Direct and to the point, they communicate short-term realities in an orderly systemic manner. They take time to consider and take in information before communicating decisions. ISTJs persuade through calculated logical analysis. Traditionalists uncomfortable with change, ISTJs need to augment their natural abilities with others who are more flexible and open to the implementation of change.
