INFP Personality Type

Hallmark Characteristics: Virtuous, Devoted, Theoretical, Compassionate, and Private

Leadership Style: Skilled listeners with a natural ability to identify with others, INFPs project an outward quiet gentleness, which masks their great determination. Proficient at encouraging others they affirm individual contributions and relentlessly uphold regarded values and ideals while inspiring followers to achieve goal accomplishment.

Communication Style: Quiet and reflective INFPs, require a great deal of time alone to ponder and evaluate their thoughts before communicating. They are reserved, have a small select social network, and share their ideas and feelings with very few. INFPs persuade others by focusing on shared values and meaningful personal stories. They are persuaded by one-on-one dialogues presented in an environment of trust.

As Entrepreneurs: INFPs have a strong sense of idealism and willingly make extraordinary sacrifices for something they believe in. They want their work to contribute to their own growth and inner development as well as to others. The organizations they establish emphasize empowering the individual and changing the world for the better. Individual needs and what works at the moment dictate how procedures are carried out. In order to make promising ideas reality, INFPs often need assistance in implementation of systematic tasks and follow-through.

Career Satisfaction: Sensitive and idealistic, INFPs value inner harmony above all else. In order for work to be meaningful to them, they need to be allowed to work towards their ideals. While successful people of all types are found in all occupations, some careers popular with INFPs include: Social worker, Special Education Teacher, Legal mediator, Diversity Manager, Journalist, Writer, Graphic Designer, Social Scientist, Physical Therapist, Psychologist, and the Ministry.
